Hi there! My name is Richard and I’m a self-confessed nerd living in Derbyshire, England. I have a 2:1 Hons in Computing & IT and a Master’s in Indie Game Development. I have worked my way up to my current position as a QA Automation Engineer. Through these experiences and through taking courses in my spare time, I have been edging my way more and more into the gaming industry.
My love for gaming began when I was just three years old and I managed to complete Sonic the Hedgehog on Sega before my dad could… Even though he resorted to using cheats out of embarrassment. I’ve been gaming-obsessed ever since. Some of my all-time favourites include Timesplitters Future Perfect, Crash Bandicoot 2, Demon Souls and Bloodborne.
The gaming world has given me so much: I’ve made amazing friends, grown in confidence through uploading my own videos to my YouTube gaming channel and it always cheers me up after a tough day. When I was initially faced with moving to a new city, without knowing anyone, I found it daunting but I had the reassurance that I can always turn to gaming to connect with friends and keep me happy; nothing else quite gives me that feeling of accomplishment that I receive when I complete a new game, or defeat a difficult boss.
Outside of the gaming world, I’m also a sci-fi and horror film enthusiast. Aside from my digital endeavours, I do love a good country walk . My days are quite full with work and game development, but I do love taking time in the evenings to stargaze and research into my love of space and the great unknown.
